Lime Rice - Indian food
- Rice - 500 gms
- Lime - 2
- Ghee - 30 gms
- Turmeric -1 tsp
- Fenugreek - 1 tsp
- Split black gram - 15 gms
- Spilt bengal grams - 15 gms
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Asafoetida - a pinch
- Cashew nuts - 30 gms
- Peanuts - 30 gms
- curry leaves - a few sprigs
- Salt - to taste
- Red Chillies - 5 gms
Method -
- Boil rice & set aside.
- Roast & powder fenugreek, turmeric & black gram.
- Mix with rice
- Add salt & lime juice.
- Heat ghee, fry nuts & remove.
- Add curry leaves, mustard seeds, asafoetida, bengal gram & red chillies.
- When brown, remove from fire and add to rice.
- Mix well. Add nuts & serve hot.
